Crowning glory: Helen Flanagan gets a retouch on her trendy pixie bob but keeps it brunette to keep Corrie bosses happy

She has gone through several dramatic images changes of late.

But Corrie star Helen Flanagan is sticking to her latest brunette pixie crop.

She spent some time inside a Manchester salon yesterday getting her locks in order after it appeared she came under pressure from soap bosses to lose the blonde look.

She teamed her casual look with a bright shade of red lipstick, aviator sunglasses and ballet pumps.

She looked a far cry from her glamour model character from the street.

The actress took a three month break from the soap in April and shortly afterwards underwent a total transformation with an edgy peroxide cut.

 

And although it seemed to make the 20-year-old happy, Corrie producers saw it as an unlikely style that her soap character Rosie Webster would have opted for.

At the time, it appeared Corrie bosses were supportive, with a spokesperson saying: 'We love Helen's look and knew she was having it done. It will be mentioned in some way on her return.'

However, on reflection, producers decided the blonde style wouldn't work and ordered Flanagan to change it back last month.

A soap insider told a Sunday newspaper: 'They've said they don't want such a huge change for the character. It'll take her hours at the hairdresser - she's gutted.'

The actress, who took time off to spend time with her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair, is currently planning her 21st birthday party next month.

She has been dating Swansea City player for the past 18 months, after meeting when the striker was on loan to Wigan from Chelsea.

And things continue to be on the up for Helen as she has reportedly signed a new £70,000 a year deal in March.

She's a busy soap star with a social life to match, but Helen Flanagan still found time to help out WAG Nicola Tappenden by modelling her charity fashion range.
The Coronation Street actress showcased items from the t-shirt collection during a shoot in Manchester.

Posing in  denim hot-pants and sky-high sandals, the 20-year-old was pictured reclining on a park bench before looking through the shots with Tappenden.
Designed in partnership with actor Vinnie Jones, proceeds from the line will go to war charity Help for Heroes.

The 27-year-old former Page 3 girl - also known as Nicola T - and the ex-footballer struck up a friendship when they were both housemates on Celebrity Big Brother in January.
Since then, they have worked together on the collection of t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts  - all emblazoned with the name Hollywood All Stars, after Jones's U.S.-based football team.

Tappenden also designs t-shirts for gynaecological research charity The Eve Appeal and retails them on her website delicious-couture.com.
And it seems the collection has definitely got a big thumbs up from Flanagan.

Pictured on route to work last week, she was spotted wearing the heart-print t-shirt - clearly one of her favourites.
And even though she appeared to be a little bit worse for wear, the star still managed to inject a bit of glamour into her look donning the same heels and a Chanel handbag.

Helen Flanagan set to film Coronation Street's raunchiest scenes yet

Her character in Coronation Street is notoriously racy and offscreen she tends to dress to impress.

But Helen Flanagan's next affair as Rosie Webster in the ITV1 soap is set be her steamiest yet.

The trouble-making daughter of Sally and Kevin will enjoy a steamy romp with Jason Grimshaw after the pair pose together on a modelling shoot.

The builder, played by Ryan Thomas, drives Webster to her latest job and when the professional male model doesn't show up, saucy Rosie pleads him to take his place.

Agreeing, Grimshaw strips down to micro-briefs and the combination of being scantily clad and sexual tension results in the two characters returning to the Webster residence and frantically undressing each other.

At one point a lamp is knocked over and smashes into tiny pieces.

But rather than tidy up, Webster says to Grimshaw: 'No please don't stop. Ignore it. It's just a bit of old tat my mum bought on the market.'

A show source told newspaper The People the upcoming scenes, due to be aired on October 22, will be 'without doubt, the hottest shown by any soap'.

'The crew and cameramen are already bribing each other for places on set when the scenes are filmed,' they said.

Although the actual scenes will be kept private, the show is expecting complaints due to the pre-watershed scheduling.

'Everyone knows this episode is going to provoke a wave of complaints,' said the show insider.

'Some people are going too feel that the scenes are far too explicit for a programme shown before the watershed time.'

Despite the expected backlash, soap producers believe the benefits will outweigh the negatives.

The insider said: 'Everyone is talking about the impact it is going to have when the show is screened in a few months - we are expecting it to be explosive.'

Meanwhile, Helen Flanagan has announced she has no anxieties about stripping off for the upcoming scenes or for similar ones in the past.

She said: 'I love Rosie's tarty outfits - the worse they are the better because they really help me get into character.

'The scene where Rosie stood in the street wearing just a corset and suspenders was fantastic. The corset was from Agent Provocateur and I love their stuff. I didn't feel self-conscious at all.'

She added: 'We all have to learn to love ourselves. I also love Rosie - she is a great character.'
