A tearful Heidi Range and Sébastien Foucan bow out of 'cruel' Dancing On Ice in emotional episode as injured Jennifer Ellison makes triumphant comeback

It could go down as the most emotional episode of Dancing On Ice to date as the stars broke down in floods of tears following a series of testing momen
It was Sugababes singer Heidi Range and athlete Sébastien Foucan who ultimately left this year's series tonight after failing to impress during the 'Ultimate Skills' challenge.
And the programme wasn't without drama as both Heidi and Sebastian were placed in the bottom three, having to take part in a skate-off with professional skier Chemmy Alcott.

It was down to head judge Robin Cousins to save just one contestant to go through to next week's show.
And when his decision was made, Sebastian broke down in tears as his disappointment was clear to see for everyone.
Taking the knock back badly, Heidi also started weeping as she started thanking her fans for her time in the programme.

And hosts Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley were left stunned as the emotional scenes played out.
Phillip commented as he watched Sebastian break down: 'What have we done? We said at the beggining it was going to be cruel but we had no idea it was going to be this cruel.'
It was a tricky week for the stars who were all being put to the test with an 'Ultimate Skills' challenge.

They were also told to carry out an identical step sequence, following the exact steps of their professional partners, as well as one spin.

And he scored well with the three judges, garnering a total of 24 points overall.
Professional skier Chemmy Alcott was next up in front of the judges as she wore a dazzling gold jewelled costume for her dance.
As she received a total of 22 points, Chemmy told host Philip Schofield how the show is continuing to help rehabilitate her following a nasty ski accident in which she hurt her leg.
The pretty blonde credited this week's jump challenge with helping her see herself back on snow, telling viewers: 'I want to see myself back on snow, I did a jump then and I didn't smash my leg up so that's a big improvement.

She also revealed she imagined she was Katherine Jenkins to help her glide around the rink.
But it was third skater Jennifer which caused one of the biggest stirs following her nasty accident last Sunday, which saw her smash her head with her blade, causing her skull to gush with blood.
All week she has struggled to get back into practise as she builds her confidence back up, and in VT footage shown prior to her live performance, she was seen breaking down in tears.
After falling over on the ice, she held her hands over her eyes and told skating partner Dan Whiston: 'I'm, dead nervous, I don't know why, I'm shaking.

But after describing her shell shock in an interview she vowed to give it her best shock and certainly impressed by completing her routine.
Dancing to Christina Aguilera's song Candy Man and dressed in a fetching sailor's outfit, she even held her head just before skating on to the ice to poke fun at the incident.
And after successfully carrying out the required challenges in the sequence, she faced the judges to receive a respectable score of 22.

Speaking after the routine, she thanked her fans for their support before saying into the microphone: 'Whoever stopped my husband from running on the ice to stop me, thank you. I had a lot of pressure, plus the injury. I just feel like I've done it so I'm made up.'
Head judge Robin Cousins commented that it was 'a little safe', but he congratulated her, adding: 'Nerves were kicking in, it was very hesitant tonight... It was hesitant but done with conviction.'
Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment and athlete Sebastian Foucan were the next two stars to give it their best.

But Sebastian was left unhappy despite drawing in 22 points for his routine to Prodigy after struggling to take on the new requirements.
He complained following his dance: 'I'm not very happy with my routine but it's okay.. this routine is very fast and very hard.'
And it appeared it affected his nerves later on in the results show as he was forced to dance for a minute on his own.
But one star who was happy with her routine was stand-out skater Jorgie Porter, who performed the daring and dangerous head banger manoeuvre.

And her partner Matt Evers was stunned at her fearlessness over taking on the daring move.
Jorgie, who has stunned throughout the series, impressed the judges yet again, receiving 8.5s all round, totalling 25.5 out of a possible 30.
But she failed to receive the highest points this week - thanks to an impressive showdown with Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden.

Other stars who took to the ice tonight included TV presenter Sam Nixon, who almost had to drop out earlier in the week after injuring himself practising one particular move.
He was hoping to wow the crowds with the special Frog Lift but after hurting himself, medics were called in an he only had a few days to prepare for the show once he got the all clear from his physio.
And despite having to take the Frog Lift out of his routine, Sam's adamant he'll do it another week if he's kept in the competition - and he now has that opportunity.

Sugababes singer Heidi Range received the lowest scores although still stunned in red hot pants while dancing to her own single Push the Button.
Last week she took a tumble but put it behind her to carry out a daring lift which saw her be spun around on her partner's shoulders.
Heidi battled with nausea but was all smiles as she wrapped up her performance.
She told the judges after her routine: 'I'm relieved it's over and I didn't go flying into the audience.'
But she failed to impress the judges in the results show as she had to spend 60 seconds on the ice without her partner.
Although she didn't take any tumbles it was Chemmy who was saved thanks to her ability on the ice and Sebastian's failure to carry out his routine.
The perfectionist star lost his way midway through his routine and failed to complete the skate off.
But he was consoled by both Chemmy, who was also in tears, and his skating partner Brianne as they took to the ice for their lap of honour.
